Matthias Rieker

Matthias Rieker was born in Frankfurt in 1976. Having worked as a light technician since 1998, he has specialized in light design for New Music, dance and performance since 2006.

Since 2008, he has worked as a technical director for productions at the Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt and has been working with Ensemble Modern ever since (including at the festivals cresc… and Connect, the festival Frankfurter Positionen and on works by Steve Reich, Heiner Goebbels, Peter Eötvös, Georg Friedrich Haas and Alva Noto).

He also collaborates with partners including the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, the Frankfurt Academy of Music and Performing Arts, the choreographer Fabrice Mazliah, the artist duo Les Trucs and the Belgian dance company Damaged Goods.
